American Bridge released the following statement after Senators Cory Gardner, Thom Tillis, Martha McSally, Joni Ernst, and David Perdue voted to confirm Chad Readler to the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Readler helped orchestrate the Trump DOJ’s refusal to defend the Affordable Care Act and its protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions in court.
“The Republican Senators who voted to confirm Chad Readler have not only cemented their legacies of opposing protections for Americans with pre-existing conditions, they’ve also made a colossal political mistake that will dog them for the next eighteen months,” said American Bridge spokesperson Amelia Penniman.
