In a Fox Business interview this morning, Donald Trump “suggested that it is his temperament that ‘has gotten me here’ and said that he has no plans to change it.”
For weeks and months, Republican elites and Trump’s own campaign have insisted — or hoped and prayed — that Trump will pivot to become more poised and presidential. But take it from Trump himself; that just isn’t going to happen.
Trump will never be fit to be commander in chief. He’ll continue to be the same erratic demagogue with the unstable temperament of a two year old.
Here are a few of the unpresidential outbursts, attacks, and temper tantrums that Trump recommitted to this morning:
- Trump’s repeatedly attacked the parents of a serviceman who died fighting in Iraq
- Trump’s suggested that an American-born federal judge is inherently biased because of his Mexican heritage
- Trump’s joked about having called women “fat pigs”
- Trump encouraged Russia to meddle in U.S. elections and conduct cyberespionage on his political opponent
- Trump’s suggested that President Obama has terrorist sympathies
- Trump’s repeatedly called for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S.
- Trump’s called immigrants “rapists” who are “bringing drugs” and “crime”
- Trump’s mocked a reporter with a disability
- Trump’s repeatedly floated the conspiracy theory that Ted Cruz’s father was involved in the JFK assassination
- Trump’s insulted Sen. John McCain and American prisoners of war
- Trump’s pledged to bring back waterboarding and “a hell of a lot worse” torture
- Trump’s “joked” he could shoot someone “in the middle of 5th Avenue” and not lose support
- Trump’s done a racist impression of Chinese negotiators
