As national and Texas GOP leaders continue to play games with the border, great replacement theorist and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is claiming, with zero evidence, that the convoy of right-wing militants headed to the border will be “set-up” by the Biden Administration just like the insurrections on January 6th.
When asked if he thinks said militants should head to the border, Paxton had this, in part, to say: “…As I think we talked about earlier, it creates the risk of a January Sixth, where they use that as an excuse to then put a bunch of people in jail and now it’s another insurrection or whatever they want to call it. They probably have a new word for it. But it’s all a setup.”
Paxton, who has been engulfed in scandal for years, is a renowned replacement theorist and antisemite, and who most recently made waves by trying to force a pregnant women with a non-viable fetus to carry to term, has been citing the same debunked legal theory South Carolina used to secede from the United States in 1861.
In response, American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Philip Shulman released the following statement: “I hope Ken Paxton gets a deal on adult diapers because I’m not sure there’s a bigger baby when it comes to respecting the rule of law and prosecuting those who break it.”
