Today, failed gubernatorial candidate James Craig announced he is jumping into the GOP primary for U.S. Senate — if he can file the paperwork correctly. With this announcement, Michigan joins countless other states where the GOP is dealing with bruising and expensive primaries.
In response to Craig’s announcement, American Bridge spokesperson Alexandra De Luca released the following statement:
“James Craig is a radical anti-abortion extremist who denied the results of the 2020 election and opposes any form of gun violence prevention. He’s unfit to represent even a single Michigander. We’re ready with years of research on Craig, given his propensity for lying about both his policies and his ability to garner enough signatures to get on the ballot. The only thing we can congratulate James Craig on is making this messy GOP primary even messier.”
As a reminder, James Craig —
-
Opposes abortion, including in cases of rape and incest, and has said, “I will do whatever I can [to get rid of reproductive rights] — I’m pro-life.”
-
Is a 2020 election denier who repeatedly called for an audit of the 2020 election and pushed Donald Trump’s debunked claims of election fraud.
-
Opposes any gun violence solution at all, and stated that “we don’t have a gun problem in America.”
