This F*cking Guy: Trump Made It Harder for Sexual Assault Survivors to Come Forward

Sep 22, 2023

Today in 2017, Donald Trump’s Secretary of Education rescinded the Obama-Biden Administration’s guidance on school sexual assault — making it much more difficult for sexual assault survivors to receive justice and rolling back critical civil rights protections for survivors and all students.

The National Women’s Law Center said the Trump Administration’s decision would “discourage students from reporting assaults” and that it was “a huge step back to a time when sexual assault was a secret that was swept under the rug.”

In response, American Bridge spokesperson Monica Venzke released the following statement:

“The Obama-Biden Administration fought hard to protect students on campus and make it easier for survivors of assault to come forward, but Donald Trump was intent on rolling back their decision to protect students. This disgusting decision under Trump protected violent offenders and further victimized survivors of heinous acts of violence.”

American Bridge’s “This F*cking Guy” campaign is reminding voters of key moments from Trump’s presidency as he pursues the GOP nomination in 2024. Our Trump Research Book website exists to help allies find the research needed to defeat Donald Trump. The site is organized into multiple reports designed to help tell the full story about Trump’s failed presidency and make the case against his 2024 campaign.
