Trump Response to SCOTUS Decision: “A lot of people are very happy”

May 04, 2022

Aggrieved Florida man and 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump broke his silence on Monday night’s leaked Supreme Court draft in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization in an interview on CBN, and it’s uh… what you expected.

Watch here.

Reporter: “Chuck Schumer says it’s all your fault of course if Roe v. Wade gets overturned. Obviously he’s talking about those three pro-life Supreme Court Justices.”

Trump: “A lot of people are very happy about that. Some people maybe say it’s my fault, some people say, thank you very much.”

“Some people” is certainly the minority of Americans – according to research conducted by American Bridge, EMILY’s List, and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, illegalizing abortion is deeply unpopular. The voters in our poll, by a 71-point margin, said they would be more likely to vote for a Democrat who favors leaving the decision on abortion up to a person and their doctor and opposes efforts to ban abortion than a Republican who favors making abortion illegal. In the most recent round of Gallup’s long running research on abortion opinions, 80% of Americans belive abortion should be legal.
