Just one day after a tragic mass shooting in the town of Perry, Iowa, Donald Trump told a crowd in Sioux Center that when it comes to gun violence, “We have to get over it.”
Law enforcement officials reported a 17-year-old student at Perry High School fatally shot a sixth grader and wounded four other students and a school administrator Thursday before apparently killing himself.
“We knew Trump lacked empathy for others, but no one thought he could go this low and tell Iowans to simply ‘get over it’ as they grieve from a situation communities across the country know all too well. This is beyond the pale, even for Trump,” said American Bridge Presidential Campaigns Communication Director Brandon Weathersby.
