Things are about to get even uglier for Republicans who are already dodging angry protesters, ghosting their constituents, and flat-out refusing to hold town halls. Before the disastrous vote to slash billions from Medicaid/CHIP and SNAP, GOP lawmakers were already facing a fury of protestors demanding to know why they are gutting access to health care and groceries for kids and families. In the wake of last night’s vote, it’s only going to get worse for them.
“House Republicans threw gasoline on the fire of anti-GOP anger by voting to gut health care and food access for families. It’s only downhill from here as they keep ignoring their constituents and lying to protect billionaires and Trump. Voters won’t forget,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado.
While conversations have been swirling for weeks about cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, vulnerable Republican House members have been getting backlash from every corner of the country:
- Ryan Zinke (MT-01)
- Jen Kiggans (VA-02)
- Scott Perry (PA-10)
- Ken Calvert (CA-41)
- Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)
- Juan Ciscomani (AZ-06)
- Ryan Mackenzie (PA-07)
- Derrick Van Orden (WI-03)
- Tom Barrett (MI-07)
