Virginians resoundingly rejected MAGA extremist Hung Cao. In the weeks leading up to Election Day, Cao lagged in the polls because of his controversial stances on key issues such as abortion and health care, as well as disparaging remarks about rural Virginians, whom he has referred to as “podunk.” Moreover, his recent comments expressing fears about witchcraft taking over Virginia have raised serious concerns among voters.
“Hung Cao’s defeat is just further proof that Virginians want nothing to do with a weird and extreme Republican in the Senate,” said American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson Nico Delgado. “Scrambling to explain himself, Cao has insulted rural Virginians and concocted bizarre conspiracy theories about witchcraft. It’s clear tonight that he’s unfit for the job — and Virginians are ready to move on.”
