Less than 24 hours after Donald Trump encouraged North Carolinians to vote twice, Trump Campaign Manager Bill Stepien took to Fox and Friends to undermine vote-by-mail efforts by spreading false conspiracies.
According to the Brennan Center for Justice, there is no evidence that mail balloting increases electoral fraud as there are several anti-fraud protections built into the process designed to make it difficult to impersonate voters or steal ballots. In fact, Donald Trump’s own witch-hunt election security tribunal found that no state has uncovered significant evidence to support Donald Trump’s longstanding vote-by-mail conspiracies.
“As the president made clear after his taxpayer-funded campaign rally, the number one advocate for voter fraud in the United States is none other than Donald Trump,” said Kyle Morse, an American Bridge 21st Century spokesperson. “Vote-by-mail is necessary because of Donald Trump’s incompetent and pathetic pandemic response that has claimed over 185,000 lives and wrought immeasurable economic pain. No one should be forced to choose between their life and their vote, and we are going to fight like hell to protect that right for every American.”
