Tonight is the debate in New York’s Fourth Congressional District. Anthony D’Esposito is going to have a tough time avoiding his many, many scandals — and that’s before he even starts talking about his extremely unpopular record and extremist agenda.
“Will Anthony D’Esposito come to the debate if they don’t let him DJ? If we know anything about him, it’s that he does not care about following the rules,” said American Bridge 21st spokesperson Monica Venzke. “D’Esposito has more than his fair share of scandal, but that’s not even the worst part about him. His extremist agenda and MAGA loyalty are completely disqualifying.”
Here’s the truth about Anthony D’Esposito:
- He hired both his fiance’s daughter and his affair partner in his congressional office — a potential violation of House ethics rules.
- He left his police-issued gun unattended in his car, resulting in it getting stolen.
- As a city councilman, he voted to benefit his friends and family on payroll, including signing off on a raise for his mother who was employed by the town.
- In 2022, he said he’d “probably” vote for an abortion ban.
- He said he doesn’t “completely disagree” with Donald Trump on anything.
- He voted for a bill that would’ve cut Medicaid and put New York enrollees’ coverage at risk if it passed.
