Today, there is another debate in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District, and now that he’s finally made it through a Republican primary. Russell Prescott gets a chance to tell voters all about his extreme, anti-choice agenda.
“Russell Prescott could not be more out-of-touch with Granite Staters if he tried,” said American Bridge spokesperson Monica Venzke. “From attacking the right to choose, the LGBTQ+ community, and New Hampshire workers, he is laser-focused on having the most unpopular agenda possible.”
Here’s what you need to know about Russell Prescott:
- He identifies as “pro-life” and believes that states should “continue to do what they’re doing” — whatever that means.
- He supported the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade and said he was the “only candidate in this race with a pro-life record.”
- He put out an ad about how voters should elect him because he would help execute Trump’s agenda.
- He said, “I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. And if that bill comes before me, that is the way I will vote because that is part of my belief system.” His opponent, Rep. Chris Pappas, is openly gay and has a same-sex partner.
- He was the prime sponsor of Right to Work legislation, and doesn’t “want a union to tell” him how to treat his employees.
- He ran for Congress in 2022, but came in fourth in the Republican primary.
